Simon Stålenhag laid - somehow - the foundation for this book with his previous works "Tales from the Loop" and "Things from the Flood". His style of painting has more and more improved, and - most interestingly - the story itself has many lines that converge and open themselves after multiple reads only - at least for me. But, I won't be a story spoiler right now ;-)It is a "road movie", and the change of colors over the journey gives the reader a desire to find the very moment in the story where "all is more or less ok", where one feels best. But alas, there is no "sweet spot", not really.Epic vistas, incredible beauty of sun and clouds, sunspots and shadows, followed by dribbling, rain, snow, wet, blue, wind, and finally the sea complement the story.I hope they will do a movie, and let's hope this will be as subtle as the book. I am looking forward ...
